REDESIGN

Redesign with us

Every new innovative solution opens up new avenues. The inspiration can come from anywhere in the value chain. In a circular economy, all parts interlock like cogs in clockworks.

The Lenzing Group does all this in pursuit of a clear goal: We consistently promote carbon-conscious practices in our own organization and among our partners to extend our holistic strategy and drive systemic change in the industry.

New standards in supply chain transparency

“Improving the world through the power of information and technology”

Lenzing takes supply chain transparency to next level by combining real-time shipment tracking and carbon visibility. Enabled by AI, machine learning and predictive analysis, the tracking system is our latest move in harnessing the power of digital technology for agile, interconnected and sustainable supply chains.

The Lenzing Group has taken another important step in enhancing the transparency and efficiency of the global fiber supply chain with the launch of a pioneering real-time ocean shipment tracker in collaboration with digital supply chain solution company project44. Adhering to Lenzing’s sustainability goals, the tracker also offers capabilities to improve the visibility of carbon emissions among partners and elevate the customer experience. The system has been available to all Lenzing customers worldwide since September 2023.

“Lenzing IT’s vision is to change the world for the better by unlocking the power of information and technology. This project is one of the many fantastic examples that brings our vision to life. We are committed to fostering digital collaborations that will further enhance customer satisfaction and transparency along the supply chain.”

Christian PlatzerVice President Global IT & Digital Innovation at Lenzing

“Supply chain visibility continues to depend on successful collaborations. [...] Lenzing’s shipment tracker, powered by project44’s unique data and insights, gives unprecedented customer access to real-time information that locates shipments across the globe. We are continuously seeking partnerships with pioneers like Lenzing who strive to incorporate new solutions and technologies into their offerings.”

Ecolabel for Indonesian fibers

Reducing emissions thanks to modernization

Lenzing has been awarded the EU Ecolabel for the viscose fibers produced at its state-of-the-art Indonesian plant. By investing in environmental measures, we are in a better position to serve the strongly growing demand for environmentally friendly viscose fibers.

The Lenzing Group has received certification from the internationally recognized EU Ecolabel for the fibers produced at its Indonesian site. This means that Lenzing fibers produced in Purwakarta (PT. South Pacific Viscose) meet high environmental standards. The product portfolio now includes LENZING™ ECOVERO™ brand fibers for textiles and VEOCEL™ brand fibers for nonwoven applications. By investing in environmental measures to switch to specialty viscose production capacities, Lenzing is in a better position to serve the strongly growing demand for environmentally friendly viscose fibers.

Climate neutrality by 2050

The substantial modernization investment of EUR 100 million has enabled Lenzing to significantly reduce its specific emissions. In addition, the site recently began sourcing energy from renewable sources and is driving the conversion to biomass in line with Lenzing’s goals of reducing group-wide carbon emissions (Scopes 1 and 2) by 50 percent by 2030 compared to the 2021 baseline and achieving carbon-neutral production by 2050.

“We work tirelessly to make the industries in which we operate even more sustainable and to drive the transformation of the textile business model from linearity to circularity. I am therefore very pleased that we have now received the EU Ecolabel, which once again confirms our sustainability performance. Our investments in Indonesia, as well as in other Lenzing sites around the world, put us in an even better position to meet the growing demand for specialty fibers with low environmental impact.”
